Be A Home
Thank you for joining us for our most recent midweek service!
Pastor Allison had the pleasure of hosting her friends Pam Parish and Lynn Johnson.
What if God is asking you to be the safe place someone never had? In this service, Allison, Pam & Lynn discuss the call to spiritual fathering and mothering, the crisis facing aged-out foster youth, and how we can reflect God's heart by simply showing up.
Pam Parish is the founder of Connections Homes, a ministry born from her family's journey of adopting and mentoring aged-out foster youth. Pam launched Connections Homes to connect young adults aging out of the system with lifelong mentoring families. Her work has helped countless individuals in the US find stability, purpose, and the love of Jesus through real relationships.
Former Assistant Secretary Lynn Johnson is the founder of ALL IN Empowering Futures. Lynn created the ALL IN for Foster Adoption Challenge as a national call for partners in every state, including governors, agencies, courts, churches, community organizations, foster alumni, and the public, to commit to being ALL IN for finding “Forever Families” for the 122,000 waiting children in the foster care system. Lynn believes these are America’s children and with a combined strategy of primary prevention on the front end when families are struggling and need intervention, as well as communities wrapping around those who step up to adopt waiting youth, the 122,000 could rapidly be reduced to zero if everyone would focus on that number.
