Get Your First Love Back
In this stirring Wednesday night message, Pastor Allison Bramlett calls the church to examine our hearts in light of Revelation 2:4-5: “You have left your first love. Remember from where you have fallen, repent, and do the first works.” Using the parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25 and the powerful story of young King Josiah in 2 Kings 22–23, she challenges us not to drift into cold religion, routine, or compromise. The five wise virgins had oil in reserve for the long wait — they stayed prepared in the midnight hour. Josiah tore down idols, restored the Word of God, and led an entire nation back to covenant with fiery obedience and tenderness of heart.
It’s time to return to passionate, relational intimacy with Jesus — not casual Christianity, but wholehearted devotion that touches every area of our lives. When Jesus is truly our first love, everything else aligns. This word will stir you to keep your lamp full, stay watchful, and live ready for the Bridegroom’s return.
