Walk in the Promises

May 13, 2026    Gregory Pope

The promises of God are yes and Amen — but are you walking in them, or just quoting them?

In this powerful message, Pastor Gregory Pope reminds us from 2 Peter 1:3 that God has already given us everything we need for life and godliness through His divine power. Using the powerful imagery of Psalm 1 — the righteous person as a flourishing tree planted by the river of life — he shows us how to break cycles of bad fruit by rooting ourselves deeply in the Word of God.

Pastor Gregory unpacks 2 Peter 1:1-11, calling us to lavishly add to our faith: goodness, understanding, self-control, patient endurance, godliness, mercy, and unending love. These virtues are already planted in us — we simply need to devote ourselves to them so we will never be inactive or fruitless. He also shares how God is mindful of us (Psalm 139 & 144), knowing us intimately and positioning us in Christ for victory.

This is a call to stop fighting bad fruit and start possessing the good fruit God has already provided. Walk in the promises — not just confess them!
